It starts in Bartow.
Lance Leggett grew up in Polk County, Florida — where boiled peanuts aren't a novelty, they're a cooler in the back of a truck.
A kid from Bartow
Bartow is the middle of the state — citrus, phosphate, Friday nights. Boiled peanuts there aren't a specialty item. They're a roadside stand, a paper bag passed down the row at a football game, something your people already know how to make.
Lance was one of the most recruited players in the state before he ever left. He went on to play football and run track at the University of Miami. But the thing he kept coming back to was the pot his family had been cooking out of the whole time.
Don't think twice.
Printed on every case
Tampa, 2011
He opened a spot in Tampa. The menu had plenty on it, but one thing sold out every single day: the smoked barbecue boiled peanuts.
People came in for them specifically. They asked to buy them by the bag. They asked whether he shipped.

Eventually he stopped splitting his attention and built the thing properly — the recipe, the co-packer, the cold chain that gets it to your door still frozen.
Smoked BBQ Boiled Peanuts came first: one recipe, smoked and boiled and sealed hot, ready in about two minutes. Ten bags to a case, with cold-pack space built in. It's the first thing we made under the name. It isn't the last.
